FX Converter
Why the NBG rate for the payment date. Georgian taxes are calculated in lari. When you receive income in another currency, it is converted at the official exchange rate of the National Bank of Georgia for the day the money arrived: not the day you invoiced, and not your bank’s buy rate. Using the wrong rate is one of the most common mistakes in monthly declarations.
How to look up a past date. Pick the currency, enter the amount and choose the date the payment reached your account. The converter shows the official NBG rate for that day and the amount in GEL. For weekends and holidays it shows the rate the NBG published for that date.
Worked example. You receive USD 3,000 on 15 September 2026. The NBG rate for that day was 2.6091 GEL per USD, so the payment counts as 3,000 × 2.6091 = GEL 7,827.30 of turnover, and the 1% tax on it is GEL 78.27. Convert every payment of the month this way, add them up, and you have the turnover for your declaration.
Tip. Convert each payment separately, on its own date. A monthly average rate is not used.
Rates come directly from the National Bank of Georgia. The converter is free and needs no sign-up.
